Winter Cruising – Members Explore New Destinations
It's been a long standing tradition for the members of CYC to organize a Winter Cruise. The land cruise destinations have varied over the years from Toronto, Washington D.C., Chicago, and beyond. CYC members, family and friends have enjoyed touring the many exciting attractions these cities have to offer.
During the 2008 winter season, a group of members cruised the BVIs, long considered one of the world's favorite boating destinations. Members cruised for 10 days on power/sailboat catamarans. Their travels took them to the Sir Frances Drake Channel where they were surrounded by picturesque islands and sheltered moorings. They followed the path of Black Beard to Norman Island and explored pirate treasure coves. Members enjoyed snorkeling and diving among the beautiful reefs and shipwrecks. They enjoyed quaint island parties and harbor-side resorts. They lived slow, and sailed fast...island style!
