Organized in 2006, our enthusiastic group of anglers is one of the
newest and fastest growing fleets at the club. Comprised of a mixture
of novice and expert anglers, we welcome all CYC members who are
non-boaters, sailors, boaters, men, women and kids. All you need is a
fun-loving attitude! The fleet’s goal is to improve everyone’s angling
skills and overall enjoyment on and off the water. Members can be found
anywhere on the island and welcome the opportunity to share their
knowledge.
In addition to hosting topical events such as speakers, cooking and
filleting tips, the fleet organizes several unique trips each year. Our
annual Ice Fishing Trip to Put-in-Bay or coed overnight to Rockwell
Springs Trout Club is among the best! Tournaments are also a large part
of our on-the-water fun and the fleet organizes several each year.
Included in these are the Offshore Steelhead Challenge and the Family
Perch Funament. However, our signature event remains The Battle of Lake
Erie Walleye Tournament held each June with member teams competing for
bragging rights and cash prizes.
With improved water clarity and healthy fish stocks, the Fishing Fleet looks forward to a bright future.
